The exhibition Strange Present brings together a group of established and new artists. Common to all is that the main material is clay, but often combined and in exploration with other materials. The exhibition's works will be based on new production, where the artists are challenged to test their own limits and their own versions of today's popular cultural common heritage, characterized by post-pandemic and a Europe at war. The works in the exhibition will appear as both figurations and abstractions. With the project Strange Present, Kunsthall Grenland wants to honor Harald Solberg and the great work he put in over many years in the work with the Bomuldsfabriken in general and the focus on the ceramics/material clay in particular. In the period 1998 to 2021, Solberg created a total of 4 exhibition projects under the title Present, where he highlighted artists who had the same background as himself, ceramics and contemporary ceramicists.
